Looking for an Underdog?

As coaches we are always looking for an inspirational story or moment to motivate our teams to greatness. Well look no further then to last weekends University of Michigan and Appalachian St. football game.
ASU was looked upon to be a nice “pre-season” opponent when they were penciled in a couple of years ago by the Michigan higher ups. Over the years, ASU has gotten better and were even riding a 15 game win streak into the game last Saturday. If you don’t know, ASU is a D1-AA and when comparing the d1 to D1-AA is seen as the leftovers or the ones that could not play at the highest level. Well on 9-1-07, the playing field was leveled and the chink was found in the armor of D1 football.
Great job to all the coaches and players on that team. They believed and played thier hearts out. That game will live on for decades if not forever, just like the Stanford Band running on to the field episode, the hailmary from Flutie or the one from Kordell Stewart.
